Next Stage, Inc. Awarded $332,800 Grant by VA for Homeless Facility Acquisition and Renovations

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has awarded Next Stage, Inc. a $332.8K grant to support Next Stage's 25 bed homeless transitional facility. Next Stage, Inc. was one of three companies selected by the VA to receive financial assistance for the work they are providing to homeless local area veterans in Tennessee. The VA's FY 2009 Grants for Homeless Programs budget will provide $36.7 million in assistance to homeless veterans in 35 states in the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico via community groups to create 1,526 beds for homeless veterans. November 10, 2007 - Birdie Anderson, President/CEO - Next Stage, Inc., received the "Take Flight Award" in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was honored for her dedicated services to homeless veterans nationwide. This event was hosted by Stand Down - a non-profit organization providing support to homeless veterans. Stand Down provides an opportunity for men and women who have served our country to regain their strength and dignity including an opportunity to return to productive lives. More than 1,000 veterans have received support from the Stand Down organization since it commenced services to homeless veterans in May 2000.
